Of course! Cafely offers the Awaken Bundle in both whole bean and pre-ground format — making it convenient for everyone to enjoy, regardless of whether they own a coffee grinder. We use a fine grind for our coffee, which is perfect for brewing with a traditional phin filter, AeroPress, drip coffeemaker, or moka pot.

Each coffee bag in the Awaken Bundle contains 12 oz (340 g) of coffee. We also carry 5 pound bags but these need to be purchased individually.

The Ban Me blend is optimized for caffeine. We chose a high-grade peaberry for this bag, which is a rare bean that produces just one pea-shaped seed (instead of two like most coffee). This mutation produces a higher caffeine content than regular coffee. 

To further enhance the potency of this coffee, we use a shade-growing system for these beans. About three weeks before the coffee berries are ready for harvest, we add shade cloth to prevent the caffeine from breaking down preemptively in the hot Vietnamese sun.

We’re not one to judge when or where you drink your coffee, but keep in mind they’re very strong. They’re going to keep you awake for at least 5–6 hours before the caffeine wears off.

For the most part, yes. Our coffees produce delicious coffee regardless of the brewing method — but some are going to produce a better extraction than others. We recommend brewing methods that enable a fuller extraction, such as the traditional Vietnamese phin filter, AeroPress, espresso, moka pot, or french press. 

Some brewing methods, like pour-over, are better for extracting only the lighter and brighter elements of coffee. This brewing method is not ideal for Vietnamese dark roasts like the Awaken Bundle because it leaves behind most of what makes this coffee so great.
