FOUNDING STORY
Cafely's founders, Mimi Nguyen and her husband, started their journey as poor immigrants hoping to find a better future. They moved to America 16 years ago to seek a better life in the land of opportunity.
Mimi grew up in Ho Chi Minh City, a place famous for having the most coffee shops in Vietnam. Here, coffee was a way of life. Each morning was greeted with a strong cup of coffee prepared Vietnamese-style — as strong as possible with condensed milk to sweeten, poured over ice.
From the Ground Up
The Birth of Cafely
Moving away from home was difficult. Language barriers made finding meaningful work a challenge, money was tight, and the immense distance from loved ones and the Vietnamese community led to feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Worst of all was the impossible task of finding genuine Vietnamese coffee. Nothing she tried encapsulated the true essence of a traditional Vietnamese-style brew.
Even the strongest American coffee she could find didn't match the bold and familiar taste she was accustomed to. Mimi knew what she needed to do — and thus, Cafely was born.

For our first products, we wanted something that encapsulated the authentic taste of Vietnamese coffee (bold, smooth, and intensely caffeinated) but in a format that suited the tireless work ethic our founders admired about American culture.
Enter Coffea robusta — an underdog coffee species with twice the caffeine, three times the antioxidants, and 60% less sugar than conventional arabica coffee. Cafely's signature product is a blend of premium single-origin robusta, peaberry, and arabica beans hand-picked from the lush central highlands of Vietnam. Saigon OG honors our homeland's bustling economic and cultural hub and is a true testament to the rich flavors our founders remember from their childhood.
