FAQs: Arabica Coffee Beans

Coffea arabica beans are known for their smoother, sweeter, more complex taste than the bolder and more bitter Coffea robusta. They also tend to have more acidity and less caffeine than their robusta counterparts.

Learn more about what makes arabica and robusta different.

Cafely sources arabica beans from high-altitude regions in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The cooler climate, higher rainfall, and rich volcanic soil allow the beans to develop slowly, enhancing their flavor profile.

We offer a variety of roast levels for our arabica beans, from light to dark. Each roast is selected based on the beans' inherent qualities — ensuring the best possible flavor for your cup.

You bet! Arabica beans are excellent for espresso. Traditionally, espresso is made with dark roast coffee. We carry several medium-dark and dark roast arabicas or arabica-robusta blends that are perfect for use in an espresso machine.

Always store your coffee (arabica or otherwise) in an airtight container. Always keep your coffee out of direct sunlight, sources of heat, or damp areas. We recommend keeping your unopened coffee in the freezer for long-term storage (more than 3 months).

Arabica coffee beans are versatile and can be enjoyed using various brewing methods. For a lighter and brighter flavor profile, we recommend using either a pour-over style (such as the Hario V60 or Chemex), French press, or siphon brewer. For a darker, full-bodied brew, opt for a moka pot, AeroPress, or espresso machine instead.

Absolutely! Arabica beans are perfect for cold brew due to their inherent sweetness and complex flavors, which are nicely showcased when brewed with cold water over an extended period.
